02.09.2019 Atlas Converting presents its next-generation compact turret slitter rewinder, which is intended to maximise productivity, processing web widths up to 1650mm at up to 600m/min.

From three years in research and development, with multi-million-pound investment in new parts design and processes, this new compact slitter rewinder demonstrates unparalleled build standards with solid and dependable engineering from the outset. According to the manufacturer, the ER610-DT project ensured unequalled combinations of operator safety, yet huge productivity improvements and reduced machine download times. The official launch will be at K 2019 in Düsseldorf from 16-23 October (Hall 3, Stand B91).

Moreover, Atlas Converting’s new website is reported to provide a great deal of detail on the slitting rewinding machines offered to both the film manufacturing and the converting industry. Offering improved user experience, with the ability to be modified easily for business needs, the new site was completely developed in house to cater for the needs of the end users.The new web presence includes an improved Service & Support section featuring communication on service contracts, warranty extensions, and refurbishment contracts.

Atlas has also set up a new “User Group” as a useful way of getting closer to its customers, end users and machine owners; to share knowledge, and even possibly a way of communicating new or common upgrades that may be useful to them.

Products in the pipeline

The experts at Atlas are observing an increasing demand for thinner BOPET films, clear barrier coatings, as well as a trend towards sustainable biodegradable and compostable products. There are new challenges emerging for converters worldwide.

In addition, the company is developing into new markets with extensive research and development which means it seeks the input of customers on their needs over the next five to ten years to assist them reach their goals.

The latest technology from Atlas Converting is reported to enable these complex products to be processed in their optimum conditions, to ensure good quality rewind reels, maximise production and minimise waste.
