Modular approaches and multi-sector solutions for the focus topic “4.0 – practice for medium-sized companies”
Thanks to innovative systems and connected production processes, a multitude of new added value opportunities arises within production. Especially small and medium-sized companies can profit from these new digitalisation solutions. In order to recognise the relevant facts and filter them out of the flood of information, NORTEC as trade fair for production offers a comprehensive overview about trend topics, start-ups and tailored industry solutions.
How can Industry 4.0 technologies and services support small and medium-sized companies in their order processing? Answers can be found at NORTEC from 23 to 26 January in Hamburg, Germany. The tradeshow offers a multitude of practical information and combines the latest developments in machinery and manufacturing technology with digital services from established companies and start-ups. The tradeshow concept follows the motto “4.0 – practice for medium-sized companies” and offers quick and detailed overviews over state-of-the-art production environments.
Especially for small suppliers, the digital integration of the ERP system into their production processes can generate a high surplus value. How that may look like is showcased by Knuth Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH in halls A3 and A4. In hall A4, stand 442, the company presents the CNC processing centre X.mill M 640 as high-performance innovation in a compact size. Additionally, the Siemens booth in Hall A4, stand 417 includes a CNC turning machine with linear tool changer and comprehensive serial equipment. Both machines are connected to the digital world by means of Siemens MindSphere. The example showcases how both companies access the generated and shared data packages, as well as initiate and control the production process according to the current needs. A third machine will be presented in hall A3 in the special exhibition Industry 4.0. It is also integrated with Siemens MindSphere. By means of this connected installation, trade visitors may make first experiences with IoT (Internet of Things) or extend their existing knowledge.
