Since 1976, the annual Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium (MKVS) has addressed product and machine manufacturers as well as formulators and users in the adhesives, printing and converting industries. And so the industry once again gathered with around 255 participants from 14 countries at the conference centre of the Sheraton München Arabellapark Hotel from 22 to 24 October 2018.

Stephan Hinterwaldner and his team from the family-run Hinterwaldner consulting and conferencing company offered an interesting and highly topical programme with plenty of room for networking. Under this year's focus topic "pressure sensitive adhesives" the latest developments and trends in raw materials, pressure sensitive adhesive and hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive systems, process technologies and processing plants were presented in 31 cutting-edge and, as expected, sometimes quite controversially discussed lectures - rounded off by a tabletop exhibition in the foyer of the conference room.

Stephan Hinterwaldner emphasised in his opening speech: "The high number of symposium participants and the outstanding technical quality of the presentations underline the enormous importance of pressure-sensitive adhesives in general and adhesive tapes and labels as the leading application in the field of pressure-sensitive adhesives.”

In 2019, the 44th Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium MKVS will take place from 28 to 30 October and will focus on "Hotmelt adhesives, hotmelt pressure sensitive adhesives and melts". The corresponding Call for Papers is already running.
