Virginia Janssens appointed managing director
She will take up her new position on 16 March 2020. Janssens has been managing director of the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN) since 2012. "We are delighted that Virginia will join us. Her talents, expertise and leadership are critical to the future of PlasticsEurope," said Javier Constante, president of PlasticsEurope and vice president of Dow. "She brings a strong track record of advocacy on sustainability-related challenges and value chain collaboration; this is particularly valuable in achieving our sustainability goals together with our stakeholders," he added.
Strong innovation dynamics

Experience in Brussels
Before Janssens joined EUROPEN in January 2010 as manager for EU affairs, she gained extensive experience in the political arena in Brussels, where she worked both as a public affairs and PR consultant for various clients in the environmental, food, chemical and energy sectors. Janssens holds a Master's degree in Political and Social Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and another Master's degree in Intercultural Management from ICHEC Business School Brussels.www.plasticseurope.org
