"While travel in Germany and the German-speaking countries is generally considered safe, many international visitors may be reluctant to fly or may not be able to travel abroad – especially now with all the ups and downs in the continued existence of the COVID-19 pandemic during and after the summer holiday season," says Stephan Hinterwaldner from the organiser Hinterwaldner Consulting. "In addition, there are a large number of industry professionals who have not yet attended a congress or trade fair this year and would like to learn about the latest developments and visit vendors, suppliers, and partners, but still have travel restrictions from their companies and/or regional governments. At the same time, our exhibitors want to meet with many customers and potential new customers."

Professional exchange as a necessity

Hinterwaldner continues: "We try to do our best – also highly motivated by the impulses coming out of the environment of our MKVS supporters and friends, who would like to see the continued offering of the symposium platform for the so necessary professional advanced training and technical exchange in our industry, also in such very difficult and turbulent times for all of us.”

Therefore, MKVS 2020 will be held as a hybrid event – a combination of a physical and an electronic event with live web streaming of the lectures, chat rooms for Q&A and other online networking features. In this way, the conference programme and agenda MKVS 2020 Hybrid will take place as originally planned, but exclusively in English and concentrated on two full conference days (Monday and Tuesday – each day approx. 9:00 am to approx. 6:00 pm) with still enough room for networking and professional exchange.

Step into the future

MKVS 2020 aims to take the next step into the future by creating the 1st Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium Hybrid. A physical event with the atmosphere of a conference and a simultaneous online event, which still offers participants the opportunity to interact with all participants – on-site or online.

"We are confident that this step will help to combine the special flair of the Munich adhesives and coating symposium with a modern way of communicating and interacting," concludes Hinterwaldner.
