The newly developed TURBOCLEAN ADVANCED E environmentally friendly inking and ink wash-up system for flexographic printing presses earned Windmöller & Hölscher KG (Lengerich, Germany) the top prize in the Packaging Machinery category at the 2016 German Packaging Awards. W&H was chosen out of a pool of 213 entrants from nine countries, who submitted applications for honours in one of the competition’s 10 categories.

The awards ceremony will take place on 27 September 2016 in Nuremberg. “We are proud and honoured to once again belong to winners of this demanding and superior competition,” said Dr. Jürgen Vutz, CEO of W&H, upon hearing the news. “As a mid-sized German company, it’s vital that we push forward with innovation in order to expand our position as the global market lead for machinery for the production of flexible packaging. This award confirms that we are headed in the right direction.”

TURBOCLEAN ADVANCED E is an innovative inking and ink wash-up system with electric pumps that circulate ink without pulsation and meet the industry’s tough demands. Ink volume in the system, wash-up time and solvent use are significantly reduced while energy efficiency is notably improved. The new development was introduced at drupa 2016 and is available for all flexo presses currently offered by W&H, including the MIRAFLEX, VISTAFLEX and NOVOFLEX.
