Pilz unveils configurable control system with even more connectivity options
The basic device of the configurable control system PNOZmulti 2 of the automation specialist Pilz GmbH & Co. KG (Ostfildern, Germany) has been enhanced. Now, up to 12 secure expansion modules can be connected on the right side. Additionally, a new output module with 14 semiconductor outputs for standard applications is available. The PNOZmulti 2 is said to enable simple and flexible realisation of larger projects, as well as the administration of several parallel projects.
The expansion modules allow a more precise adaptation of the control system to the application. This enables a finer granularity of the system, as the number of input and output modules as well as motion monitoring modules can be chosen depending on the application – the system does not need in- or outputs at the basic device PNOZ m B1. In this way, users save costs, as they only pay for those functions that they really need. Moreover, the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator makes sure that the hardware can be configured very easily, with online support at disposal during parametrisation. Thus, users do not only save costs but also time.
Additionally, a standard output module for automation applications is now available. Via its 14 semiconductor outputs, functions such as indicator lights or acoustic signals can be managed. It can also transmit the signals of the safety control unit to the operation control unit. This includes status signals of emergency stop buttons or safety doors.
