Hönle Group
Drying and curing in the coating process
UV specialist Hönle shows a choice of their wide range of UV and LED-UV curing systems. Amongst, the UV modules pureUV and LightGuide pureUV. Due to a specially developed reflector geometry, these UV units can reach a more than 50% higher peak intensity than comparable units. Optional barriers allow filtering most of the IR radiation so that, even on temperature-sensitive substrates, inks, and varnishes can be cured quickly and efficiently. Their “quick-change”-technology allows a quick and easy exchange of the UV lamp.
The LightGuide pure UV module is designed for direct insertion into the printing or coating line, whereas the pureUV has a compact housing and can therefore be flexibly installed in the web path of the production line. Light Guide modules are also used in UV inert chambers, which are also developed and produced by Hönle. A trendsetting solution is the installation of a UV-inert process chamber above a chilled drum. In addition to all known advantages of inertisation, this unique combination results in optimised temperature management of the web and reduces nitrogen consumption by about 10 %.
LED curing
Furthermore, Hönle showcases trendsetting UV-LED curing units for the converting industry, for instance, UV-LED units of the product series LED Powerline, including the LED Powerline Focus. The focusing optics generate a high intensity and optimise this powerful UV-LED system for greater distances to the substrate. The high intensity leads to extraordinary curing results even at high operating speeds. The modular design of the LED Powerline permits the switch-off of single segments so you can quickly adapt the module to different substrate widths. The jetCURE LED air-cooled high-power array is available in various LED configurations and wavelengths up to a maximum intensity of 18,000 mW/cm². This flexibility allows the configuration of the LED system to be precisely adapted to the curing equirements of the application.
Three subsidiaries at the stand
Dr. Hönle AG shares the stand with three of its subsidiaries: Whether conventional UV curing or UV/LED-UV hybrid technology: PrintConcept shows high-end systems for printing and curing lines with and without nitrogen inerting. The nitrogen chamber can be retrofitted at any time and without major modifications. The group's IR specialist, Eltosch Grafix, will be presenting the flexibly scalable twinPOWER IR high-performance area module for small to large working widths. All modules can be equipped with short-wave, fast-reacting medium-wave and NIR lamps. New and trend-setting is the NIR Powerline, a NIR LED module for drying and heating processes.
For laboratories and technical centres, Technigraf offers flexible conveyor systems that can be customised in terms of application bandwidth and running speed. LED-UV, UV or even IR systems can be integrated very easily. Reliable measuring and testing devices are indispensable for development but also for performance control in running processes. Technigraf offers a wide range of LED UV and UV measuring equipment.
