K 2019 – High interest in inline-measuring systems for flat web production

07.11.2019 MeSys GmbH is very satisfied with the course of this year's K. The company, which specialises in the measurement of flat web materials using non-radiometric system solutions, presented three sensors to the trade visitors.

The USMX 200 is used to determine the basis weight and/or thickness of thin materials. Thanks to patented ultrasonic technology, the measuring system works contact-free and radiation-free. All materials, even electrically conductive or coatings, can be measured traversing.

Suppression of interference signals and environmental influences

With very thin materials, a measuring accuracy of 0.5 percent of the measured value is achieved. At the same time, interference signals and environmental influences are suppressed by intelligent control logic. The array version of the USMX 200 also attracted interest. This system offers inline weight measurement with 100 percent product coverage, as several sensor rows are implemented across the entire web width. Here, too, all materials, such as plastic or metal in black or transparent, can be measured. Typical applications are battery separators or film coatings.

Radiation-free ultrasonic technology

With the robust PPS 200, the company also exhibited the ideal system for online thickness and weight measurement, which is suitable for controlling industrial processes and quality assurance in harsh industrial environments. The portable basis weight meter for laboratory applications also uses radiation-free ultrasonic technology. It is predestined for both small web widths and fixed point measurements.

"We had eight successful days at the fair, during which we were able to make many new contacts and maintain existing ones. With our exhibited products we have hit the nerve of the trade visitors," says Silvio Dalbuono, sales manager at MeSys GmbH.
