Together with Eva Knorr, he now manages the fortunes of the company, which specialises in the contactless, non-radiometric measurement of flat web materials.

Professional career

After training as a mechanical engineer and studying aerospace engineering, his path led via a company project at the University of Erlangen into the field of coating technology. At FMP Technology GmbH, which was founded by Prof Dr Dr Durst, Eggerath finally received his doctorate and came into contact with an ultrasonic sensor from MeSys GmbH for the first time in the course of his activities. Since 2014, he has held the professorship for coating and drying at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.

After Eggerath returned to FMP Technologies GmbH as managing director and restructured the company, he handed over the management this year to take up his new position at MeSys GmbH. With his expertise and experience, he will thus support the traditional company, which has become one of the leading developers and manufacturers of non-radiometric system solutions for web measurement of weight, thickness and moisture since its foundation around 30 years ago, with his expertise and experience in management.

Since its foundation about 30 years ago by development engineer Helmut Knorr, MeSys GmbH, headquartered in Greifenberg, Germany, has become a leading developer and manufacturer of non-radiometric system solutions for web measurement of weight, thickness and moisture. Since 2018, Eva Knorr, who has been driving the constant growth of MeSys GmbH with her highly qualified team of specialised technicians and engineers, has been managing director. In 2020, Prof Dr Daniel Eggerath took over the operational management of the company in parallel. Worldwide trade and service locations in America, Europe and Asia not only underline the continuing expansion course of the measurement specialist but also the declared goal of offering simple, effective, reliable and at the same time safe measurement and control solutions for high-quality production. The various non-radiometric system solutions of MeSys GmbH are mostly used in the energy, automotive, sanitary, packaging, construction and food industries.
