The traditional company Zanders from Bergisch-Gladbach will continue to produce high-quality specialty papers and boards in the future. The company was taken over by the new "Zanders-Paper GmbH" on 1 December 2018. Dr Marc d'Avoine, insolvency administrator at Zanders, announced the successful conclusion of the negotiations: "We are pleased that the takeover will be carried out by paper professionals who are already extremely successful in the industry. The continuation of paper production at Zanders is thus assured. All know-how carriers will remain on board."

Terje Haglund and his team will shortly introduce themselves to the public, says the insolvency administrator. The takeover by a partner already active in paper production is in any case the best possible solution for Zanders: "Thanks to the know-how on both sides, very good conditions have been created for the Bergisch-Gladbach site to be secured in the long term."

The company will continue to operate with around 300 employees and around 150 will have to leave the company. For those affected, a transfer company will make the consequences socially acceptable by continuing to pay a large part of the salary for seven months and providing support in finding a job. In addition, the works council and above all the city of Bergisch-Gladbach offer a lot of help, including a job exchange where local companies can present their vacancies and have direct personal discussions.
