Schreiner Group
Climate-neutral manufacturing starts in 2023
Schreiner Group is currently in the process of fine-tuning its climate neutrality concept and will already start climate-neutral manufacturing supported by diverse actions toward the end of this year.
Commitment to the Paris Agreement
The goal of the Paris Agreement is to limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5°C. By submitting its Commitment Letter to SBTi Schreiner Group has committed to this goal. Its commitment has already been reviewed and acknowledged by SBTi and published on the SBTi homepage. SBTi is a partnership of various environmentally focused non-profit organisations. The purpose of the initiative that includes the WWF and the Global Compact of the United Nations, among others, is to support companies in calculating and achieving their necessary share in climate protection. SBTi is the leading organisation for validating science-based climate protection targets. With its commitment to SBTi, Schreiner Group has also pledged to set itself a near-term target as well as to publish the target year of achieving full climate neutrality. For that purpose, the company had initially had its current corporate carbon footprint determined, which corresponds to Scope 1-3 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocols. Subsequently, further energy savings potential was identified by means of an energy efficiency analysis and is now being implemented. In addition, Schreiner Group is going to name its specific climate protection goals to SBTi by the end of 2023.
