SchaeferRolls Inc. a manufacturer of high-performance roll covers made of elastomer and composite materials based in Farmington, New Hampshire, USA and a subsidiary of SchäferRolls GmbH & Co. KG from Renningen, Germany, is expanding with a new production facility in Covington, Virginia, USA. The new plant will be equipped for the production of the complete range of roll covers as well as for all mechanical repair, rebuild and grinding services. This expansion will make cooperation even more efficient, especially for customers in the southern and southeastern USA.

"We have been looking for a location to site a second manufacturing facility to better serve our customers in the South," said J.T. Fisher, VP and general manager of SchaeferRolls Inc.

With the decision for Covington, SchaeferRolls Inc. will also become the preferred supplier of the local production site of the paper and packaging manufacturer WestRock Company.

Through systematic technology transfer and targeted synergies between the international locations of the Schäfer Rolls Group, the new production facility will be equipped with an optimal and future-oriented production process. "For SchäferRolls, this complete new building is a rare opportunity to use state-of-the-art technologies and processes to design production efficiently and to position ourselves optimally for the future," says Carsten Sohl, technical director of the parent company in Renningen. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2018. The beginning of operation is scheduled for mid 2019.
