The paper manufacturers Sappi Europe (Brussels, Belgium) and Felix Schoeller Group (Osnabrück, Germany) signed a cooperation agreement. The collaboration entails – among other things – the joint development of sustainable barrier paper solutions for applications in flexible packaging. The two companies want to bundle their special competences in their fields of business, in order to be able to offer more sustainable and efficient packaging solutions for their products.

Sappi Europe with its business unit Packaging and Specialty Papers is a globally active manufacturer of specialty papers and cardboard. The equally globally active Felix Schoeller Group produces papers for analogue and digital photo and digital print, as well as fleece wallpapers, decorative and release papers.

“We have found the ideal partner in Felix Schoeller Group to add further functions to our high-quality specialty papers. Together, we will create innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, in order to meet the demands of our customers,” said Thomas Kratochwill, vice president sales and marketing at Sappi Packaging and Specialty Papers.

“Cooperation with Sappi creates many synergies. We will bundle our special know-how in the development of unique packaging solutions,” explains Hans-Christoph Gallenkamp, COO of Felix Schoeller Group.
