RODEPA Plastics B.V. from Hengelo, The Netherlands, has ordered a further washing system for the treatment of post-consumer plastic wastes at Herbold Meckesheim GmbH.

Rodepa is one of the leading plastics treaters in the BENELUX countries and supplies LDPE and PP regranulates. The company is a sister of De Paauw Recycling, which is mainly specialised in exports to the Far East. Already for 16 months, Rodepa has been operating a further line from Herbold Meckesheim, which has now also accepted the bid for the construction and delivery of the additional line. The capacity of the new machine ranges at up to 10 000t per year; it will be mainly used for dimensionally stable films and hard plastics made from PE and PP.

The construction comprises a shredder with downstream contaminant removal, friction washing system, wet mill, separation stage, dryer and air separation. The treated material can be granulated in-house or sold as ground material.

The very effective washing method within the friction washing system and wet mill, the convincing wear protection concept and the good collaboration at the realisation of the first line were crucial in Rodepa’s decision to choose Herbold Meckesheim GmbH once again as machinery supplier.
