New portal Packaging360 celebrates its launch

The platform went online just in time for the start of the FachPack trade fair (Nuremberg, Germany) on 25 September 2018. Anyone looking for a packaging solution for a product will find informative and inspiring news here in the future. The portal offers an all-round view of the subject of packaging along the entire value chain. It is all about questions such as: What new materials are there? What is the potential of mechanical engineering? How can customer wishes for individualisation and sustainability in packaging be taken into account? The platform is aimed at manufacturers of consumer goods, retailers with their own brands and the packaging industry. is a joint project of dfv Media Group, Frankfurt, and FachPack, the trade fair for packaging, processes and technology, NürnbergMesse.

Rainer Miserre, publishing manager technical journals at dfv Mediengruppe, explains how the two companies cooperated: " is based on a concept that we developed for our own print and event business. Cooperation on the portal – and also on a congress, by the way – quickly developed from the preliminary talks for FachPack 2018. The idea is very simple: both partners want to further develop the packaging topics digitally and create new information offers."

Heike Slotta, head of events at NürnbergMesse, describes her objective as follows: "With the new portal, we want to offer our customers and all interested parties orientation in the information jungle all year round – not just on three days at FachPack. We would like to inspire, inform and network and offer the industry an attractive platform for this."

What is special about is that the theme portal sees itself as a link between the branded goods and consumer goods industry on the one hand and the packaging industry on the other, which constantly offers new and creative packaging solutions. This does not exist in this form on the market yet. The focus is on the consumer goods industry, as around 70% of all packaging is used in the food and beverage industry. Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in particular place high demands on manufacturers and retailers. promises packaging decision-makers inspiration and answers their questions.
