Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe GmbH, an experienced manufacturer of high-quality coated specialty papers, continues on its path of innovation and investment. As part of the "New Business Development" programme, a new quality control system has now been successfully put into operation at the SM 21 in Bielefeld, Germany.

The innovation programme includes the multi-stage orientation of the Bielefeld coating machine 21 towards future markets. The modern Honeywell quality control system that has now been put into operation includes several measuring frames with different equipment as well as system peripherals for precise process control.

"We will be able to combine the special coating units even better and use them more efficiently," says Kai Borenius, head of machine technology at Mitsubishi HiTec Paper. "This not only enables us to further improve process quality and production flexibility, but ultimately also to optimise product quality. This applies not only to our traditional product areas such as thermal or inkjet papers, but also to our new product areas such as environmentally friendly barricote barrier papers for food packaging.

With this investment of around €1M, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper is continuing to focus consistently on future, innovative markets and applications.
