Jagenberg AG acquires Polytype Converting
For more than a year, WIFAG-Polytye Holding based in Fribourg, Switzerland, has planned to sell its converting business unit. Now, with Jagenberg AG from Krefeld, Germany, a new owner for the renowned manufacturer of coating lines has been found. In an interview with Freiburger Nachrichten, Martial Pasquier, administrative board president of WIFAG-Polytype, explained that the acquisition of the business unit by Jagenberg is imminent. “The contracts have been signed and the employees are informed. In the next two months, all the details of the transaction will be negotiated.”
By the end of the year, the acquisition is expected to be completed, and a decision about the future of the 40 employees will be made. “Overall, it is one of our main goals to keep as many employees in Fribourg as possible,” added Pasquier.
Jagenberg AG, which is a part of Kleinewefers Group, is a management holding based in Krefeld with several subsidiaries and shares in machinery construction, technical textiles and real estate. Its portfolio includes renowned companies such as Kampf Schneid- und Wickeltechnik GmbH & Co. KG (Wiehl, Germany) and Lebbing engineering & consulting GmbH (Bocholt, Germany).
