Harro Höfliger
Takeover of the business operations of Widmann Maschinen
Widmann Maschinen, founded in Esslingen in 1946, develops, builds and maintains series and special machines used for packaging food and cosmetics, in the automotive industry and medical technology. The family-owned company specialises in the manufacture of film processing and bag filling equipment as well as ultrasonic welding of film materials.
Close business relations
Harro Höfliger and Widmann Maschinen have enjoyed a close business relationship for over 20 years. At the Schlierbach site, the production and packaging machine manufacturer from Allmersbach im Tal will take over all employees, thus relying on a well-established team."We are looking forward to the new production site and over 70 highly qualified, committed employees. We want to provide them with a secure future locally," says Thomas Weller, CEO of Harro Höfliger. "In our main industries of pharmaceuticals and medical technology, the global market is constantly growing by six to eight percent per year. This is also reflected in our steadily increasing order intake. That's why Schlierbach is a permanent fixture in our medium-term planning."
Market position strengthened
With the acquisition of Widmann, Harro Höfliger strengthens its market position as a supplier of complete production solutions in the special machinery segment and complements its expertise in ultrasonic welding. In Schlierbach, the fast-growing Assembly Technologies technology division will be given a second production and assembly site. This unit specialises in automated assembly systems for the pre- and final assembly of pharmaceutical and medical technology products. These include inhalers, auto-injectors, insulin pens, insulin pumps and products for laboratory diagnostics. The Schlierbach plant brings the number of Harro Höfliger sites in Baden-Württemberg to five. In addition to Allmersbach im Tal, Backnang and Aspach in the Rems-Murr district, the company also has a presence in Satteldorf near Crailsheim.
