EMS B.V. (Almelo, The Netherlands) is now a member of the European Rotogravure Association (ERA). On 1 July, the manufacturer of modern CFRP rolls joined the trade association in order to expand its network in the areas of printing, film and paper production as well as in the processing industry.

"ERA has around 100 member companies from Europe and other regions," explains ERA secretary general James Siever. "But EMS is the first and only manufacturer to fully specialise in carbon fibre rollers and related technology for our industry. This will give our group a new perspective and new expertise. We are very much looking forward to working together."

Carbon fibre rollers offer customers in the printing, film and paper production industries and the finishing industries considerable advantages over conventional rollers. Compared to steel or aluminium rollers, carbon fibre rollers enable higher speeds and are lighter and safer. This allows higher productivity, reduces energy consumption due to the lower weight and shortens changeover times, as the rollers can be changed safely and easily.
