Two traditional companies in the packaging industry merge: The packaging manufacturers Anton Debatin GmbH (Bruchsal, Germany) and Riba GmbH (Hamm, Germany) have founded Deriba Group GmbH. The new group acts as the holding company for six highly specialised individual companies and bundles their competencies.

Anton Debatin and Riba are equal partners of the Deriba Group. The company also integrates the subsidiaries Debatin SARL (Hoenheim, France), pfc premium film company GmbH (Hamburg), HVB Hoch-Vakuum-Beschichtungs GmbH (Berlin) and Berec GmbH (Werneuchen). Each of these individual companies is considered a specialist in its field. The newly founded Deriba Group is to coordinate the business activities. These include the joint marketing of a wide range of products and services "from a single source" and an exchange of know-how in product development. In addition, companies benefit from economies of scale in procurement, general process optimisation, synergies in logistics and access to new customer groups with high purchasing volumes.

The Deriba Group holds a leading position in the European market for flexible packaging. Together, the companies have a turnover of more than €100M and employ over 400 people. "This makes us a key player in the market and has the potential for national and international growth," says Thomas Rose, managing director Anton Debatin. His new colleague Frank Rieker, managing director of Riba, adds: "Our companies have been working together successfully on projects for a long time. We can achieve much more in a group. Specifically, I am thinking, for example, of the development of particularly environmentally friendly packaging."
