MES CAT 6.0 certified by SAP

Companies use the MES CAT solution, available in the SAP Store, to digitise production environments with the help of MES modules. MES CAT is the core of MES SUITE, which includes other cloud and on-premises products fully integrated with SAP to digitise production.

MES software evolves

More than two dozen companies around the world use the MES solution. With the new release 6.0. T.CON has further developed its MES software in many places – in some cases in direct exchange with the manufacturing industry. "In close dialogue with our customers, for example at events such as Production Day, it has become clear that exception-based and guided working is now a key requirement for our customers," says Michael Karl, product owner MES at T.CON. "The renewed certification proves that MES CAT is the optimal central building block for setting up digitalised production based on a fully integrated system – integrated with SAP ERP based on SAP technology. For our customers, the certificate signals investment security. It ensures that our software will also work with future SAP releases."

A state-of-the-art user interface that gives workers intuitive access to information is one example of such an innovation. "We increase efficiency in production through recommended actions and predictive information for the worker," says Michael Karl. "The employees enjoy working with the system and can concentrate on their actual tasks."

Interoperability and investment security

The topic of interoperability with other system modules was also a focus of the developers' work. Thanks to open standard interfaces, MES CAT is optimally suited for setting up hybrid system landscapes in which mission critical systems such as production control are mapped as on-premises systems. Here, the focus is on factors such as fail-safety. This stable digital core of production can easily be supplemented with innovative applications from the cloud, via which new functions simply and quickly become part of the digital system landscape for production. In this way, existing legacy systems can also be functionally expanded in many cases.

The certification also proves that a decision in favour of MES CAT is easy on the IT budget, because MES CAT can also be implemented quickly on any SAP installation. Implementation projects are completed quickly thanks to the coordinated technological basis.

To ensure that MES CAT customers benefit from seamless SAP integration in the long term, T.CON renews certification for this product in approximately two-year cycles. In 2013, a release of MES CAT was certified for the first time.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) certified that the integration software for the MES CAT 6.0 solution can be integrated with SAP S/4HANA using standard integration technologies. SAP S/4HANA is the next-generation business suite designed as a digital core to help customers drive digital transformation in their businesses.
