GEFRAN
Compact and robust frequency converter for the plastics industry
GEFRAN's range of air-cooled, scalable ADV200 series frequency inverters is specially designed for the plastics extrusion sector. They have power ranges from 0.75KW to 1800MW and a supply voltage from 400VAC to 690VAC.
Main extruder screw drive
The company is now adding the ADV200 LC vector-controlled frequency inverter to the air-cooled version, which is suitable, for example, as the main drive for the extruder screw in plastics processing. LC stands for "liquid cooled" and describes an innovative cooling system using water or oil for electrical and mechanical units, which drastically reduces the size of the frequency inverter. "We offer the liquid-cooled version as an integrated control cabinet version or with the option of through-hole mounting," explains Giuseppe Savoca, sales manager at GEFRAN. "The use of anti-condensation and humidity sensors can effectively prevent condensation in the inverter." The vector frequency converter with field-oriented control from 30KW to 400KW and integrated mains filter and choke is impressive for its user-friendly operation, simple commissioning and uncomplicated integration into existing systems.
Cooling system with corrosion protection
An ingenious cooling system consisting of aluminium tubes and stainless steel connectors with internal separation between electronics and water cooling provides excellent corrosion protection. For sizes up to 55 KW it is possible to mount the braking resistor directly on the heat sink. An integrated control function of the coolant temperature serves to control an external valve for drive and motor.Although the ADV200 LC with DC bus power supply is extremely energy-efficient and much more compact than the air-cooled version, it offers comparable performance. The control structure, programming and application options also correspond to the ADV200 series.
