New regional service manager for Germany and Benelux
In this function he is responsible for the service of the machines of Bobst Italia SpA with production sites in San Giorgio Monferrato and Piacenza. Here the company produces its engraving, coating and laminating product lines.
Career in the mining industry and in the field of roller coatings
Schwermer began his professional life after graduating from high school with an apprenticeship as industrial clerk at one of the largest German companies in the coal and steel industry. After three years he moved to Mitex in Erkrath, a manufacturer of roller coatings for practically all industrial applications. For almost 30 years he was instrumental in the further development of the company's original focus on the coal and steel industry into new business areas such as the paper, printing, foil and packaging industries. In addition, he played an intensive role in the expansion of the company's global presence.
"As part of my intensive customer support, including as key account manager, I had a lot to do with Bobst machines in day-to-day business worldwide. With its product lines engraving, coating and laminating, Bobst has a strong position in the global market. I was very much attracted by the task of being regional service manager for these products, to further strengthen Bobst's service division in Germany as well as in the Benelux countries and to help shape its future development," says Schwermer, formulating his motivation for the move to Bobst Meerbusch. He is looking forward to continuing to work with the same contact persons as before in his new function for many customers.
